    The Council will be considering the proposed law at its meeting scheduled for 12 February (Committee Meeting) and the ordinary meeting of Council on 26 February 2019.

    The PURPOSE of this local law is to make provisions about the regulation of parking or stopping of vehicles in all or specified thoroughfares and reserves under the care, control and management of the local government and to provide for the management and operation of parking facilities.

    The EFFECT of this local law is that a person parking a vehicle within the parking region is to comply with the provisions of this local law

    The consultation period for providing comment on the draft local law has now closed. The City did not receive any submissions.

    The City will progress the adoption of the draft local law by presenting it to Council at its round of meetings scheduled for February 2019 (no meetings in January).

    The City of Nedlands resolved at its Ordinary Meeting of Council 24 June 2018 to advertise the proposed Parking and Parking Facilities Amendment Local Law 2018 for public comment.

    The PURPOSE of this local law is to make provisions about the regulation of parking or stopping of vehicles in all or specified thoroughfares and reserves under the care, control and management of the local government and to provide for the management and operation of parking facilities.

    The EFFECT of this local law is that a person parking a vehicle within the parking region is to comply with the provisions of this local law.

    Hardcopies of the proposed local law may be obtained from the City’s Administration Centre, the Nedlands and Mt Claremont Libraries.

    Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, City of Nedlands, PO Box 9 Nedlands 6909 by 29 October 2018.

    Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1911

    The City of Nedlands resolved at its Ordinary Meeting of Council 28 March 2017 to advertise the proposed Health Local Law 2017 for public comment.

    The purpose of this local law is to provide a statutory means to effectively control issues that have the ability to adversely impact on the health and well-being of the community.

    The effect of this local law is to allow health-related issues to be sufficiently controlled so as to provide an acceptable standard for the maintenance of public health in the community.
