The City of Nedlands is inviting your comments on a Development Application at No.25 John XXIII Avenue, Mount Claremont.
The Proposal
The City of Nedlands has recently received Stage 1 works at John XXIII College which includes the following:
A reconfigured main car park, associated landscaping and entry sequence addressing John XXIII Avenue;
A reconfigured junior school car park;
A new two-storey administration building and landscaped surrounds;
Minor additions and alterations to an existing classroom building;
Additions and alterations to the existing Library building;
Demolition of the existing Grounds and Maintenance storage facilities; and
Minor alterations to the existing Staffroom.
There is no increase to student enrolments and no additional staffing will be required as part of this proposal. A Traffic Impact Assessment has been prepared by Porter Consulting Engineers which accompanies this application. The intended date of commencement of construction is March 2021 with the works estimated to take 24 months to complete.

Community Information Sessions will be held by appointments only on 28January2021 from 4pm–6pm at the City of Nedlands Council Chambers. The City will have 20-minute appointment slots for community members in which City Planning Officers will be able to assist with general enquiries on this application.
Due to current limits placed on indoor gatherings and the capacity of the meeting room, confirmed appointments to the Community Information Sessions are essential to able to attend. Those without confirmed appointments will be turned away to facilitate those who have made appointments due to capacity limitations.

Nedlands Library – just ask a Librarian who will be able to help you register and submit your submission. This can be done during library opening hours.
Nedlands Community Centre (NCC) – Seniors can access this community service with NCC staff, by appointment only. Please call 9386 6170 to make a booking.
