About the Community Working Group
What is the role of the CWG?
The CWG will provide input to help shape the local area planning policy (the ‘roadmap’ for future development outcomes). The CWG will perform the vital role of being a conduit between the Council and the community, helping to inform and identify local community priorities in the review and formulation of local planning policies and relevant planning instruments.
Who will be on the CWG?
The CWG will consist of 12 volunteers, chaired by a Councillor, and also a Secretariat provided by Administration for support. The CWG will include a mix of individuals from the local area and representatives of key community and business organisations, all with an active interest in the future of the City of Nedlands.
The CWG members will be selected by random ballot and drawn from three different age groups, including residents aged under 25 years, residents aged between 26 and 40-years old, and residents aged over 40. An independent probity auditor will oversee the ballot draw.
