Swanbourne Beach - Beach Shower Upgrade

Consultation has concluded

The beach showers at Swanbourne are being improved by relocating and replacing the showers to the concrete boardwalk area adjacent to the beach access stairs. The new showers will incorporate improved accessibility, improved drainage and include towel rails and benches.

The relocation will resolve the issues being experienced at the current site. These issues include significant sand drift causing the shower areas to be filled with beach sand, which in turn causes drain problems (blockages, flooding, water wastage). The sand also causes the push button showers to regularly jam up, meaning that they are either permanently on or permanently off.
